Kyle Mastropietro is an Italian-American from Philly who's been slaying food for a little over a decade. As a ramen & Japanese culture aficionado, Kyle has studied with the best of the Japanese noodle senseis from around the globe. With years of trial & error behind him, he has perfected the art of the noods, and opened Kasai in early 2018 — located in the heart of downtown Syracuse in Armory Square. Kasai is a two story restaurant that is comprised of a heavily inspired spirits & craft beer parlor on the entrance level, and traditional eatery experience on the bottom floor.
The word "Kasai" is difficult to define, but easy to envision. It derives from a vivid Japanese term that describes an all-consuming, all-encompassing fire. Intensity & passion — just like the love we have for food, and culture.
